Securing Tuvalu's future, One Contribution at the Time

Who we are

The Tuvalu National Provident Fund (TNPF) is the national retirement savings fund of Tuvalu, established to help all workers in the country secure their financial future. TNPF provides a reliable system for employees and employers to contribute regularly, ensuring members can access their savings upon retirement, or in times of financial need.

TNPF was first established in April 1984 when Parliament passed the TNPF Act 1984. The British Government donated a grant of AUD$500,000 to start the Fund. It commenced operations in 1984 employing a Manager and a Clerk.

At present, the Tuvalu National Provident Fund has grown significantly, managing approximately AUD $100 million in members’ funds, which are invested both locally and offshore. The organization employs 27 staff at its headquarters in Funafuti and 7 agents across the Outer Islands.
